Chapter 2 - THE BREACH"We have to move," Elias ordered, his hand gripping his pistol as the penthouse door rattled under the force of a battering ram.

"They're going to kill us," I cried, shielding my babies.

"Not while I’m breathing," Elias snapped. He pulled a hidden lever behind a bookshelf, revealing a narrow, dark passage. "Get in. This leads to the subterranean rail. It’ll take you to the private terminal."

"You're not coming?"

"I have a welcoming committee to attend to." He kissed my forehead—a gesture so tender it felt alien—and slammed the door shut, leaving me in the dark with my children.
