Chapter 6 - The Unseen Mastermind

Elena pressed the button on her small black device.

Instantly, the heavy blast doors of the mansion slammed down from the ceiling, sealing all exits with thick reinforced steel plates!

Julian’s eyes widened. Vance scrambled to blast the locks, but his bullets bounced uselessly off the titanium alloy doors.

"What is the meaning of this?!" Julian shouted, whipping around to face Elena.

Elena calmly stood up, wiping the fake blood from her hands with a linen napkin. The weakness in her posture vanished, replaced by an aura of absolute dominance.

"You spent six years in Siberia planning your revenge, Julian," Elena said, her voice echoed through the sealed foyer. "Did you ever wonder who paid the guards to keep you alive in that cell?"

Julian froze. "What?"

"Did you ever wonder who sent you the anonymous blueprints of this mansion three months ago?" Elena continued, walking slowly toward him. "Who supplied your mercenaries with non-traceable weapons?"

Maya slowly got up from the floor, wiping blood from her lip, a smirk forming on her face. She casually pulled off her police badge and tossed it aside.

"It was us, darling," Maya said softly.

Julian looked back and forth between the twin sisters, his mind racing to put the pieces together. "You... you were manipulating me?!"

"Our father wasn't a humble gardener who died in debt, Julian," Elena revealed, tapping her phone screen.

The large display screen in the living room flickered back to life. But it didn't show the mansion feed anymore. It showed a top-secret dossier stamped with the emblem of the Global Sovereign Syndicate.

"Our father was Marcus Vance—the founder of the syndicate you thought you bought," Elena said, her eyes flashing with ice. "You killed Victoria’s father to take over his empire, but you were actually stepping into our cage."
