Chapter 2 - The House of SecretsThe address Ethan gave him led to a decaying Victorian house on the edge of the industrial district—not an orphanage, but a 'private boarding facility' that had been off the grid for years.

Andrew’s black SUV pulled into the gravel drive. He didn't wait for his security detail; he grabbed Ethan’s hand and marched toward the heavy wooden door. When he knocked, a man with a jagged scar across his eyebrow answered. He was one of the men from the street.

"You again," the man sneered, his gaze shifting from Andrew to the terrified boy. "You’re trespassing on private property, Mr. Whitman."

Andrew didn't blink. "I’m here for Noah Miller. By court order, which my attorney is currently filing with the judge on duty. And you are going to let us in."

The man reached for something behind his back, but Andrew’s security team—who had arrived in seconds—was already there, their presence suffocating. The man paled and stepped aside.

"The brat is in the basement," he spat. "Go ahead. See what kind of mess you’re taking home."
