Chapter 10 - The Dawn and the CrownSilence returned to the Villa Moretti—a heavy, absolute silence broken only by the crackle of the fireplace and the distant sound of rain against the glass.

In the East Wing, the heavy steel door of the panic room clicked and swung slowly open.

Isabella stepped out into the hallway, her hands trembling, her eyes wide with dread. She expected blood. She expected bodies. She expected the worst.

Instead, she saw Lorenzo Moretti standing at the end of the corridor. His suit jacket was gone, his sleeves were rolled up to his elbows, and there was a small smear of soot on his cheek, but he stood tall, unbroken, and completely calm.

When he saw her, he let out a long breath and walked toward her.

"It's over," Moretti said softly, stopping just inches away from her.

"Is everyone... are you okay?" Isabella whispered, her voice shaking as she looked up at him.

"We are safe," Moretti replied. "Gomez and his men won't be bothering anyone ever again. The cartel knows now that anyone who crosses my gates does not return."

Isabella let out a sob—a sound of pure, eight-months-long release. All the fear, the running, the terror of being hunted evaporated into the warm air of the hallway. Before she could process her own movement, she stepped forward and buried her face against Moretti’s broad chest.

For a moment, the Iron Ghost froze, completely unused to such raw, uncalculated vulnerability. Then, slowly, strong arms wrapped around her, pulling her close against him, shielding her from the entire world.

"You saved me," she murmured against his shirt.

"No, Isabella," Moretti corrected, resting his chin gently on top of her head. "You saved Dante. You saved my dog. And in return, I swore an oath."

He pulled back slightly, looking down into her eyes with a fierce, burning intensity that left no room for argument.

"You don't have to run anymore. You don't have to be nobody. Stay here, by my side, and I will give you back your name, your clinic, and a kingdom where nobody will ever dare to look at you twice."

Isabella looked up at the man who commanded the city from the shadows—the ruthless Don, the Iron Ghost, the protector who had burned down an empire to keep her safe. She saw no danger in his eyes now. Only absolute devotion.

She raised her hand and gently brushed the soot from his cheek.

"I'm not nobody anymore," she whispered, a small, genuine smile finally touching her lips. "I'm yours."

And as the first rays of dawn broke over the glittering skyline, the ghost of the alleyway was gone forever, replaced by the queen of the underworld.
