The charcoal suit was a masterpiece. It fit Noah like custom tactical armor, sharpening the broad line of his shoulders and making him appear even more formidable. But when he stepped out of the fitting room and saw the dark, exhausted circles beneath my eyes, genuine concern broke through his cold exterior.

He paid the exact, correct amount for the labor, and then did something unexpected.
