Chapter 10 - THE NEW GARDENEmma recovered completely. A month later, I was back at the hospital, but not as a nurse. I was there as a guest.

The pediatric wing had been renovated. There was a brand-new, sprawling rooftop garden—full of windows, trees, and sunlight.

Emma was sitting on a bench, sketching a new building. She looked up and smiled when she saw me.

"Nora!"

I sat down next to her. "How are you feeling?"

"I don't have to take the pills anymore," she said, her voice bright.

Graham stood in the background, talking to the hospital board. He looked at me and nodded, a look of profound gratitude on his face.

The story had gone viral—the nurse who saw the truth, the billionaire who had been blinded, and the little girl who just wanted a place with trees.

I looked at the garden, at the city skyline, and finally, I felt at peace. I wasn't just a nurse anymore. I was the person who ensured that some gardens, and some lives, were allowed to grow.
