Chapter 10 - Dawn Over ManhattanThe sunset over Central Park painted the Manhattan skyline in brilliant shades of amber, gold, and violet.

I stood on the balcony of our newly restored penthouse apartment—not the gloomy fortress in Greenwich, but a bright, open home overlooking the very park where our lives had collided just days ago. Down below, Noah, Ivy, and Owen were chasing pigeons near the Bethesda Terrace fountains, their infectious laughter drifting up on the crisp evening wind.

Behind me, the sliding glass door clicked open. Strong arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me back against a warm, familiar chest.

"They're exhausted," Sebastian murmured into my hair, resting his chin on my shoulder. "Mercer is facing twenty years in federal prison, the board voted unanimously to strip my grandfather of executive authority, and the family trust has been legally restructured under the children's names."

I turned in his arms, looking up into those unmistakable gray eyes that had haunted my nightmares and my dreams for four long years.

"And your grandfather?" I asked softly.

"He's retired to his country estate," Sebastian replied, a faint, melancholic smile touching his lips. "Guarded by people who report directly to me. He lost, Elena. The dynasty survived, but it belongs to us now."

I reached up, tracing the sharp line of his jaw, feeling the steady, real beat of his heart beneath my fingers. The road ahead would not be easy—the ghosts of the Vale family would take years to fully exorcise—but as I looked out at our children running freely through the park, I knew the war was finally over.

"You never answered my question," I whispered, a playful smile touching my lips. "When are we actually getting married again? Or do I have to break into another courthouse?"

Sebastian chuckled, capturing my lips in a deep, fierce, and absolute kiss that left no room for doubt.

"Tomorrow morning," he whispered against my mouth. "And this time, not even my grandfather can stop it."
