Chapter 10 - A New DynastyThree months later.

The Barrett Estate had undergone a profound transformation. The cold, austere stone halls were now filled with warmth, laughter, and the soft patter of small sneakers running across polished hardwood floors.

In the sunlit conservatory overlooking the sprawling gardens, Josie sat at a massive mahogany art table, meticulously arranging hundreds of bottle caps—red, blue, green, and yellow—into a magnificent, sprawling castle complete with walls, towers, and gates.

She wore a soft pink cashmere dress and had a red velvet bow pinned neatly in her dark curls.

Wes Barrett walked into the conservatory, holding a tray with hot cocoa and fresh pastries. He set it down gently on the table, pulling up a chair to sit beside her.

“Looking good, Your Majesty,” Wes smiled, pointing to the red cap at the center of the structure. “Is the central castle secure?”

Josie looked up, her brown eyes bright and filled with absolute peace. She reached into her pocket, pulling out a brand-new, unblemished red bottle cap, and placed it right at the pinnacle of the highest tower.

“Always,” she whispered.

Wes wrapped an arm around her small shoulders, pulling her close against his chest. He looked out through the glass conservatory at the brilliant afternoon sun shining over the city he once thought he owned.

He didn't own the city anymore. But he had something infinitely more valuable.

He had a daughter.

And in a world full of darkness, coldness, and skyscrapers built of ruthless ambition, a homeless girl with a rock and a red bottle cap had proven that the strongest thing on earth isn't an empire of steel—it is the fierce, unbreakable courage of a child who refuses to let a good man die alone.
