Chapter 15 - The New DynastyThree weeks later, the autumn air crisp and biting, a black armored town car rolled through the iron gates of the Moretti estate—a sprawling, heavily guarded fortress nestled along the shores of Lake Michigan.

For the first time since our marriage ended, I was returning to the place where my heart had been broken and rebuilt. But this time, everything was different. The heavy, oppressive gloom that used to hang over the halls had been replaced by the soft, sweet scent of baby powder, delicate pastel blankets, and the undeniable warmth of a real home.
In the back seat of the car, cradled securely in my arms, was our daughter. We had named her Clara Victoria Moretti—Clara for the bright, healing light she brought into our lives after months of darkness, and Victoria in honor of the battles we had fought and won together.
Adrian opened the car door from the outside, offering his hand to help me out. I took it, stepping onto the paved driveway with a newfound steadiness in my stride. The bodyguards posted around the perimeter nodded respectfully, their expressions softening slightly as they caught a glimpse of the tiny bundle in my arms.
We walked up the grand stone steps and into the foyer, where a massive mahogany crib had already been set up in the master suite alongside our bed. Adrian gently unzipped Clara's fleece jacket, gasping softly as the baby stirred, letting out a tiny, high-pitched yawn and stretching a miniature hand into the air.
"Look at her," Adrian whispered in sheer wonder, gently letting her tiny, fragile finger wrap around his scarred index finger—just as she had in the hospital NICU. "She's perfect, Elena. Absolutely perfect."
"She has your stubbornness," I teased gently, leaning against his shoulder as we watched our daughter drift back to peaceful sleep. "And thankfully, she has my patience."
"She has everything she needs," Adrian said, his voice ringing with absolute conviction. He wrapped his free arm around my waist, pulling both of us close against his chest. "We won, Elena. The past is buried. Vance is gone, his empire is dust, and no one will ever touch this family again."
I looked up into his eyes, seeing the fierce, unwavering devotion that had once terrified me, but now felt like the safest harbor in the world.

"I know," I whispered, resting my head against his heart.
The door to our new life was wide open, and for the first time, there were no secrets left to hide behind.
