CHAPTER 1 — The Boy Who Walked Into a Billionaire's Wedding

The crystal chandeliers sparkled like stars above the grand ballroom as hundreds of elite guests stood to applaud.

Today was supposed to be the happiest day of Charlotte Hayes' life.

The billionaire heiress, dressed in a breathtaking white gown worth more than most people's homes, smiled as the orchestra played her favorite song. Beside her stood Ethan Carter—the handsome entrepreneur the media called the perfect groom.

Everything looked flawless.

Until the ballroom doors slowly creaked open.

A tiny barefoot boy, no older than seven, stepped inside.

His clothes were torn.

His face was dusty.

His dark hair looked as if he hadn't slept indoors for weeks.

At first, everyone assumed he had wandered in by accident.

The wedding planner rushed toward him.

"Sweetheart, you're in the wrong place."

But the boy didn't answer.

He kept walking.

One slow step after another.

Straight toward the bride.

The music faded.

The guests began whispering.

Security exchanged nervous glances.

Charlotte frowned.

She had never seen the child before.

Or so she thought.

The little boy finally stopped only a few feet away from her.

His trembling eyes filled with tears.

Then, in a voice so quiet the entire ballroom leaned forward to hear, he whispered,

"Mom..."

A wave of shocked gasps swept through the room.

Charlotte's smile disappeared.

"What... did you call me?"

The boy reached inside his ripped shirt.

Everyone expected him to pull out a note.

Or maybe food.

Instead, he carefully removed a small piece of old white cloth tied into a knot.

With tiny shaking fingers, he untied it.

A single gold wedding ring slipped into his palm.

The ballroom froze.

Charlotte stared at it.

Her heart skipped a beat.

It looked...

Impossible.

Because engraved inside the ring were two initials.

C & M.

Not C & E.

Not Charlotte and Ethan.

Charlotte suddenly turned pale.

She hadn't seen those initials in nearly eight years.

No one else understood why her hands had begun to shake.

Except one person.

Standing at the altar.

Ethan.

For the first time all day...

The groom wasn't smiling anymore.

He looked terrified.

Trying to stay calm, Charlotte knelt before the boy.

"Where... where did you get this ring?"

The child swallowed hard.

"My daddy told me... if I ever found you..."

"...I had to give this back."

Silence.

Every guest stared between the bride, the mysterious child, and the frightened groom.

Charlotte slowly reached for the ring.

The moment her fingers touched it...

A memory she had buried for years came crashing back.

A rainy night.

A desperate goodbye.

A promise that was never supposed to return.

She looked into the boy's eyes again.

For the first time...

She noticed something impossible.

He had the exact same deep blue eyes as the man she had once believed died forever.

Behind her, Ethan quietly took one step backward.

No one noticed.

Except the boy.

The child pointed directly at the groom.

Then he said the one sentence that turned the wedding into a nightmare.

May you like

"That's the man Daddy told me never to trust."

To be continued...
