Chapter 7 - The Trap at the WarehouseThree days later, intelligence intercepted by Vance’s inner circle revealed a terrifying plot: Viktor Vance’s primary rival, a ruthless Russian mob boss named Dmitri Petrov, was planning a massive coordinated strike against Thorne’s financial strongholds, using Josie as bait to draw Vance out into the open.

"It’s a trap," Max warned, standing over a holographic map spread across the mahogany war table in the basement command center. "Petrov knows we’re securing the docks. He’s waiting for Boss to move."

Josie stepped out from the shadows of the doorway. She had spent the last three days learning how to shoot under Vance’s direct supervision—discovering a natural, terrifying precision she never knew she possessed.

"Then let him trap me," Josie said calmly.

Vance spun around, his face turning thunderous. "Absolutely not. You are staying in this safehouse with an armed battalion guarding the perimeter."

"And while I hide here, Petrov will keep hunting down everyone connected to you, burning down everything you've built!" Josie argued, stepping right up to Vance, matching his fierce glare. "You said it yourself: I’m pack now. Pack doesn't hide behind while the alpha walks into a slaughterhouse alone."

Vance stared at her, stunned by the sheer, unadulterated grit radiating from her small frame. A slow, intense heat ignited in his chest—a feeling he hadn't experienced in over a decade of blood and betrayal.

"Fine," Vance said grimly, handing her a custom-fitted Glock 19 and a tactical Kevlar vest. "If we ride into hell, we ride together."
