Chapter 4 - A DANGEROUS WEDDINGThe wedding took place twelve hours later inside the high-security cathedral of St. Patrick’s. There were no white doves, no romantic music, and no smiling guests.

Armed mobsters guarded every entrance with assault rifles concealed beneath expensive coats.
Sophia stood at the altar wearing a black silk dress provided by Alessandro. Her hands trembled as she held a bouquet of dark red roses. Beside her stood Alessandro, wearing an immaculate black tuxedo, looking every bit the ruthless king he was born to be.
At the front row sat Matteo, his jaw clenched so tightly his teeth threatened to shatter. He had tried to object to the release of his father's 'killer', but ancient mafia tradition dictated that a Don's wife could not be prosecuted by internal family law without the Don's explicit permission.
"By the power vested in me..." the terrified priest stammered, looking at the armed guards. "I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."
Alessandro turned to Sophia. He reached out, gently cupping her chin. For a fraction of a second, his touch was surprisingly gentle. He leaned down and pressed his lips to hers.
The kiss was intense, fiery, and sent a shockwave through Sophia's entire body. It wasn't just for show—it felt like a vow of protection, a silent promise forged in blood.
When he pulled back, Alessandro turned to face his syndicate, including Matteo.
"Listen to me carefully!" Alessandro’s voice echoed off the cathedral walls. "Sophia is now the Don's wife. Anyone who speaks against her speaks against me. Anyone who touches her or her daughter will be flayed alive."
Matteo stood up, sneering. "You marry the woman who butchered our father? You've gone soft, brother! You're letting a maid run this family!"
Alessandro didn't hesitate. He pulled a concealed pistol from his jacket and shot Matteo directly through his left kneecap.

A collective gasp echoed through the church as Matteo fell to the floor, screaming in agony, clutching his shattered leg.
"That's for disrespecting the bride," Alessandro said coldly, holstering his gun. "Clean up this mess."
