Democratic Senate candidate Pennsylvania arrested for threatening President Trump and and the family of a member of Congress.
The man arrested is Raymond Eugene Chandler III, 41, who is running for the U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania in 2028 against Senator John Fetterman.
According to court documents released Friday, Chandler is accused of leaving numerous voicemails over the past year targeting President Trump and the family of a congressman.
In a text message dated April 18, 2026, he allegedly described a scenario in which the congressman and his 13-year-old daughter were attacked, dragged out of their home, and murdered.
A few days later, on April 29, he allegedly urged the congressman to assassinate President Trump by bringing a gun into the Oval Office and shooting him.
Chandler, who claims to be the first in his family to graduate from college and a former game designer, announced his campaign in a video, saying he “heard from God” about running for president.
This video, which went viral on social media, shows him standing in front of a sign that reads "BE KIND."
Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the United States Secret Service arrested Chandler on May 1st in connection with these charges.
Each charge carries a maximum sentence of up to 10 years in prison.
Authorities have not released further details about the congressman in question, although reports suggest a connection to Senator Fetterman.
Federal investigators are focusing on the specific content of the voicemails.
There is currently no date set for the next court hearing.
The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Pennsylvania has not commented further beyond confirming the arrest.

Federal prosecutor Jeanine Pirro said a third assassination attempt on President Donald Trump in two years is under investigation, with serious charges under federal law.
In an interview on the program “My View with Lara Trump,” Pirro said suspect Cole Allen is being prosecuted on three charges: attempted murder of the President of the United States, carrying a weapon across states with intent to commit a felony, and firing a firearm, which carries a mandatory consecutive sentence.
Federal officials, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, are continuing to investigate the suspect's background, motives, and plans, which have been described as a coordinated and premeditated act involving multiple weapons.
Ms. Pirro said the evidence gathered indicates the suspect acted with calculation, determination, and preparation.
She said the suspect carried multiple weapons when carrying out the incident, including a .12-gauge shotgun, a fully loaded .38 caliber pistol, as well as a dagger, pliers, and wire cutters.
Ms. Pirro said the suspect intended to use violence to approach and target the President and members of the cabinet.
She also said the reaction of some people to the incident had raised concerns, with some expressing support for the suspect's actions.
She questioned how political rhetoric directed at the President could influence public reaction.
She said this rhetoric also affects how younger generations perceive political opponents, while emphasizing that in the United States everyone must abide by the law and there will be consequences for violating it.
