CHAPTER 5 — THE SECOND BOY SPOKE... AND JAX REALIZED HE HAD BEEN LIED TO HIS ENTIRE LIFE

The entire battlefield went silent.
Even the gunfire outside seemed to disappear.
Jax stared at the two boys.
Same face.
Same eyes.
Same scar beneath the left eyebrow.
It was impossible.
Eli slowly walked toward the other child.
Neither of them looked afraid.
Instead, they stared at each other with the strange curiosity only children possess.
"What's your name?" Eli whispered.
The other boy answered without hesitation.
"Noah."
Jax felt his heart stop.
That had been the second name he and Sarah had chosen before the twins were born.
Sarah collapsed to her knees.
Tears streamed down her face.
"My baby..."
She reached toward Noah.
But the commander stepped in front of him.
"You don't get to call him that anymore."
Noah looked confused.
"Dad..."
"Who are these people?"
The commander placed a hand on the boy's shoulder.
"They're strangers."
"They're trying to take you away from me."
Noah nodded.
He had believed that man his entire life.
Eight years of lies couldn't be erased in a single moment.
Jax clenched his fists.
"You stole my son."
The commander smiled.
"No."
"I raised him."
"You buried your pain in alcohol and violence."
"I taught him how to survive."
Jax lunged forward.
The commander didn't even flinch.
Instead, he pulled a small black remote from his pocket.
"One more step..."
"...and this building disappears."
Everyone froze.
Mason suddenly began laughing from across the room.
"You still don't get it, Jax."
"There was never only one traitor."
The tied-up biker slowly lifted his wrists.
The ropes fell to the floor.
He had never been tied.
Several bikers gasped.
"It was fake..."
Mason pulled a hidden pistol from inside his boot.
Then...
One by one...
More Iron Wolves removed their club patches and dropped them onto the blood-covered floor.
Ten.
Twenty.
Thirty.
Nearly half of the clubhouse had secretly worked for the commander.
Jax looked around in disbelief.
His own family...
Had been infiltrated for years.
The commander smiled.
"I didn't come here for Eli."
"I didn't come here for Noah."
"I came for something your wife has hidden for eight years."
Every eye turned toward Sarah.
She slowly reached beneath her jacket.
Jax expected a weapon.
Instead...
She pulled out a small silver flash drive hanging from a chain around her neck.
The commander's expression changed instantly.
"There it is."
"Hand it over."
Jax frowned.
"What is that?"
Sarah looked at him with tears in her eyes.
"It's the reason they destroyed our family."
"It's the reason they hunted our children."
"It's the reason thousands of innocent people disappeared."
Jax stared at the tiny drive.
"What could possibly be worth all this?"
Sarah whispered,
"It contains every name."
"Every politician."
"Every billionaire."
"Every judge."
"Every police chief."
"Every criminal leader."
"Everyone who belonged to an organization so powerful..."
"...it controlled governments from the shadows."
The room fell into stunned silence.
The commander raised his rifle.
"You have five seconds."
Sarah looked at Jax.
Then at Eli.
Then at Noah.
She made her decision.
With one sudden motion...
She snapped the flash drive in half.
CRACK.
The commander screamed,
"NO!"
For the first time, fear appeared on his face.
But Sarah smiled through her tears.
"You'll never own the truth."
The commander slowly lowered his weapon.
Then...
He started laughing.
A slow...
Cold...
Terrifying laugh.
"You think that was the only copy?"
He reached into his jacket and tossed an old envelope onto the floor.
Jax picked it up.
Inside was a DNA report dated nine years earlier.
His hands began to shake as he read the final line.
JAX MORGAN — Probability of being the biological father: 0.00%.
The paper slipped from his fingers.
Jax looked at Sarah, unable to breathe.
She was crying uncontrollably.
"No..."
"Please..."
"Let me explain."
But before she could say another word...
The commander smiled and delivered one final blow.
"You spent eight years searching for your sons..."
May you like
"...without realizing they were never yours."
