CHAPTER 6 – The Last Lesson

Victor Kane slowly backed away.
For the first time in forty years...
The man who had terrorized countless lives was afraid.
Around him stood dozens of Evelyn's former students.
Some wore police badges.
Some were military officers.
Others were judges, doctors, firefighters, and teachers.
None of them had come to fight.
They had come to protect the woman who had once saved them.
Victor laughed nervously.
"So... this is your army?"
Evelyn shook her head.
"No."
"They're my family."
Victor suddenly raised his pistol and grabbed Noah, pressing the barrel against the boy's head.
"One more step and he dies!"
Everyone froze.
Even the wind seemed to stop.
Victor smiled.
"I win."
Evelyn quietly laid her wooden staff on the ground.
She raised both hands.
"You've already lost."
Victor frowned.
"What are you talking about?"
A sharp red laser dot appeared on his shoulder.
Then another.
And another.
Within seconds, dozens of laser sights covered his body.
Hidden among the cliffs surrounding the ruined temple...
A special tactical unit emerged.
Victor's own men immediately dropped their weapons.
One by one, they surrendered.
Victor looked around in disbelief.
"You called the police?"
Evelyn smiled gently.
"I called my students."
The tactical commander removed his helmet.
He walked toward Evelyn...
Then bowed deeply.
"Master."
Victor's face turned white.
The commander wasn't just any officer.
He was the nation's highest-ranking hostage rescue commander...
A boy Evelyn had rescued from the temple fire forty years earlier.
Victor screamed in rage and pulled the trigger.
Click.
Nothing happened.
He looked at the pistol in horror.
The magazine was empty.
Noah slowly opened his hand.
Six bullets fell onto the stone floor.
Clink...
Clink...
Clink...
Everyone stared.
"When..." Victor whispered.
Noah smiled.
"When you were busy celebrating."
"You taught me to fear you."
"But Master Evelyn taught me to observe everything."
Victor collapsed to his knees.
His empire...
His fortune...
His power...
Gone in a single morning.
As officers placed him in handcuffs, he looked at Evelyn one last time.
"I spent forty years chasing power."
Evelyn nodded.
"And that's why you never realized..."
"The greatest power was never hidden beneath this temple."
She looked at the students surrounding her.
"It was hidden inside every life we chose to save."
Victor lowered his head.
For the first time in his life...
He had nothing left to say.
As the sun rose over the ancient ruins, Noah picked up the old wooden staff and handed it back to Evelyn.
She smiled and gently pushed it back into his hands.
"No."
"It's yours now."
The frightened boy who had once believed he was broken...
Had become the final guardian of the Dragon legacy.
