CHAPTER 3 – The Video in Locker 19

The brass key opened locker 19.

Inside was no money.

No weapon.

Only a dusty black tape labeled:

“FOR MY SON.”

When the teenager played it, the man in the video looked exactly like the faded photo.

His father.

Alive.

Breathing.

Terrified.

“If you’re watching this,” the man said, “then Harrison kept his promise… and they failed to erase me.”

The boy’s hands shook.

His father leaned closer to the camera.

“The explosion was staged. I discovered names, bank transfers, and a child trafficking route hidden inside a military charity. The people behind it were powerful. One of them was family.”

The boy stopped breathing.

Then the video revealed the name.

His mother.

The woman who had raised him alone.

The woman who cried every year at his father’s empty grave.

She had not been protecting him from the truth.

She had been hiding him from his father.

That night, the boy returned home silently.

His mother stood in the kitchen, already crying.

“You opened the locker,” she whispered.

He stepped back.

“Tell me he’s not alive.”

She covered her mouth.

Then came the knock at the door.

Three slow knocks.

His mother turned pale.

The boy opened it.

And standing in the rain…

was his father.

Older.

Scarred.

Alive.

But before the boy could speak, his father looked past him and whispered:

“Don’t trust her.”
