Chapter 8 - Downfall of the Serpent"Drop the weapon, Gabriel!"

A dozen laser sights suddenly red-dotted across Gabriel's chest. Standing on the VIP balcony overlooking the ballroom was Connor Bell himself, flanked by heavy mercenaries armed with assault rifles.

The crowd screamed in terror, diving under tables and scrambling toward the exits, only to find the doors blocked by Gabriel's loyal guards.

Daniel let out a desperate, hysterical laugh, spitting blood onto the stage floor. "You're too late, Gabriel! Connor's men own the building! We've already won!"

Gabriel didn't even flinch. He didn't look at Connor Bell on the balcony. Instead, he simply looked down at Daniel, a cold, mocking smile touching the corners of his lips.

"You really think I walked into a room full of my enemies without a contingency plan?" Gabriel asked softly.

Before Daniel could process the warning, a series of muffled explosions echoed from deep within the hotel's lower levels. The entire grand ballroom shook, and the overhead lights flickered violently before plunging into emergency red backup illumination.

"What did you do?" Connor Bell shouted from the balcony, his earlier arrogance instantly vanishing into raw panic as his earpiece squawked with panicked updates from his men.

"Your escape routes are mined, Bell," Vance's voice crackled through the ballroom's PA system. "Federal marshals are currently securing your docks, and your financial servers have just been wiped clean by our security team."

Connor Bell raised his submachine gun, aiming directly at Gabriel's head from the balcony. "I'll kill you right here—"

Bang.

A single, perfectly placed gunshot echoed from the shadows of the upper rafters.

Connor Bell’s rifle slipped from his hands. He clutched his shoulder, spinning around before collapsing onto the velvet carpet of the VIP lounge as one of Gabriel’s snipers lowered his weapon from the catwalk.

Chaos erupted on the balcony as Bell's remaining mercenaries dropped their weapons and raised their hands in surrender.

On the stage, Daniel stared in absolute horror as his grand empire evaporated into ash in less than sixty seconds.
