Chapter 7 - The Royal Execution

The day of the wedding arrived.

The venue was the grand Grandview Estate in Nashville—a sprawling, marble-columned mansion surrounded by manicured gardens, fountains, and rolling green hills.

Over four hundred high-profile guests filled the outdoor pavilion: U.S. Senators, Fortune 500 CEOs, Hollywood celebrities, and elite news journalists with television cameras lined along the red carpet.

Tessa Whitmore looked like royalty. She wore a custom fifty-thousand-dollar French lace wedding gown with a diamond tiara resting atop her perfectly styled blonde hair. Her father, Senator Whitmore, stood proudly beside her in a tailored tuxedo, shaking hands with wealthy donors.

Backstage in the groom's suite, I adjusted my bow tie in the mirror.

My chest was calm. My mind was sharp.

There was a soft knock on the door. My head head of security, Marcus, stepped inside.

"Everything is set, sir," Marcus reported in a low voice. "The media feeds are live. The federal authorities are positioned outside the estate perimeter. And Maren is in the private waiting vehicle around the corner."

"Is she ready?" I asked.

"She's nervous," Marcus admitted. "But she's ready."

"Good," I took a deep breath, smoothing down my jacket. "Let's begin."

At 3:00 PM, the wedding march began to play.

The massive wooden doors of the estate opened, and Tessa stepped out onto the marble aisle, holding her father's arm. The crowd stood up, applauding and taking photos as she walked toward the altar, her face glowing with triumph.

I stood at the end of the altar, watching her approach.

When she reached me, Senator Whitmore placed her hand in mine. "Take care of my daughter, Rowan," the Senator said smoothly, giving me a firm, political handshake.

"Oh, I will, Senator," I replied with a chilling smile. "She will get exactly what she deserves."

The officiant stepped forward, opening his book. "Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to join Rowan Bellamy and Tessa Whitmore in holy matrimony..."

The officiant went through the traditional opening remarks, praising our love, our union, and the merging of two powerful families.

"If anyone knows of any reason why these two individuals should not be joined in holy matrimony," the officiant announced to the audience, "let them speak now, or forever hold their peace."

A moment of quiet fell over the outdoor pavilion.

Tessa giggled softly, looking into my eyes. "Nobody," she whispered playfully.

"Actually," I said, stepping back and pulling my hand away from hers, "I do."

The crowd gasped.

Tessa’s playful smile vanished instantly. "Rowan... what are you doing?" She whispered nervously. "Is this a joke?"

I pulled a small wireless remote control from my inner tuxedo pocket.

"It's no joke, Tessa," I said into the lapel microphone attached to my suit, amplifying my voice across the entire estate and through every live television broadcast camera.

I pressed the button on the remote.

Behind the altar, the massive sixty-foot silk backdrop dropped to the ground, revealing a giant, high-definition LED projector screen.

The screen flickered to life.

Instantly, the audio system echoed with the loud, crystal-clear voice of Tessa Whitmore recorded at the Saint Jude Annex four days ago:

"Rowan must never know this boy exists. If he ever found out Maren carried triplets, he would do a DNA test immediately... Maren is living in a shack in the woods, gathering aluminum cans to buy baby food. She believes what she was told. She has no money, no lawyers, and no voice. She is nothing."

The crowd erupted into utter chaos.

Secretaries gasped, politicians dropped their champagne glasses, and news cameras zoomed in on the giant screen as bank records, forged police reports, fake hotel photos, and offshore wire transfers from Senator Whitmore’s foundation flooded the monitor in agonizing detail.

"Shut it off!" Senator Whitmore screamed, running toward the stage. "Shut that damn screen off!"

"Don't move, Senator!" Marcus and four armed security officers stepped out, blocking the Senator and pushing him back into his seat.

Tessa stood frozen in the center of the stage, her face pale white, her breathing shallow as four hundred pairs of eyes stared at her with utter disgust and horror.

"Rowan... please..." She whimpered, tears ruined her expensive makeup as she reached out to me. "Please... don't do this..."

"You ruined my wife," I said into the microphone, my voice echoing across the silent, stunned crowd. "You stole my children. You bought off investigators, lied to the police, and tried to sell my infant son to a foreign agency just to protect your father's political campaign."

I turned to face the main entrance of the venue.

"And now, I'd like to introduce the real woman of this story."

The massive grand doors at the back of the pavilion opened once more.

Walking down the long red carpet was Maren.

She was no longer wearing faded jeans or worn sandals. She wore a stunning, elegant emerald-green silk dress. Her dark hair fell gracefully over her shoulders, her head held high, radiating poise, dignity, and absolute beauty.

Walking beside her were two nurses holding three beautiful baby strollers.

The entire crowd parted like the Red Sea as Maren walked toward the stage.

Tessa collapsed onto her knees right on the altar, sobbing hysterically into her ivory lace wedding dress as the reality of her total destruction settled in.

Down the driveway, the loud, wailing sounds of police sirens echoed through the air. Four federal law enforcement vehicles pulled up to the estate, their red and blue lights flashing against the marble pillars.

Federal agents walked up the steps, heading straight for Senator Whitmore and Tessa.

"Senator Richard Whitmore, Tessa Whitmore," the lead agent announced loudly, pulling out a pair of handcuffs. "You are under arrest for federal wire fraud, conspiracy to commit child trafficking, and political corruption."

As the handcuffs clicked around Tessa’s wrists, she looked up at me, her eyes filled with hysterical madness. "You ruined my life, Rowan! You ruined everything!"

"No, Tessa," I said quietly, stepping down from the stage toward Maren. "You ruined yourself."
