Chapter 9 - THE ULTIMATE BETRAYALJust as things began to feel normal, the call came. Not from a rival, but from the police. My own company board had filed an injunction. They claimed I was 'compromised' by my relationship with an employee. They wanted me out.

"They’re using your absence against us," Claire said, already opening her laptop. "They think we’re weak."

"Let them," I said, pulling her close. "Let's see what happens when the CEO and his secretary stop playing by the rules."
