Chapter 9 - THE ESCAPEWe escaped down the building’s crane-lift, descending into the foggy Chicago night. We ran for blocks, hiding in an abandoned subway tunnel. We were covered in soot, our clothes torn.

"They’ll never stop," I said, leaning against the cold subway wall.

"They won't have to," he said. He pulled out a phone and hit a button. Somewhere in the distance, a massive fire erupted—his headquarters. He had triggered the self-destruct. "I’ve burned it all down. They have nothing to steal now."
