Chapter 9 - THE STORMA winter blizzard hit, worse than the one that killed my father. The main roads were closed. The Callahan ranch was stranded. My mother and I had food and wood, but I knew the ranch was in trouble.

I took my father’s old sled and trekked through the blinding snow, bringing the supplies and the sewing needles I’d used to mend Luke’s own rancher coats. I didn't just save his day; I saved his business's morale.
