Chapter 7 - The Reckoning & Retribution

The weeks that followed were a whirlwind of legal justice.
The state prosecutor built an airtight, unyielding case against the entire syndicate.
Because of the hidden camera footage, the forensic medical reports, the seized toxicology vial, and the paper trail of the WIDOWS file, Amanda, Sheila, and Brooke were denied bail.
The FBI expanded the investigation into a federal racketeering and multi-state serial murder case. The bodies of Amanda’s previous two husbands were exhumed under federal court orders; toxicological panels confirmed high levels of thallium in both remains.
Amanda was charged with two counts of First-Degree Murder, one count of Attempted Murder, and multiple counts of Fraud and Child Abuse. She faced two life sentences without the possibility of parole.
Sheila and Brooke were sentenced to 25 years each for conspiracy, forgery, and grand theft.
Dylan was placed into juvenile detention and court-ordered rehabilitation, stripped of the unearned luxury he had used to torment my son.
Every single piece of my late wife’s stolen jewelry was recovered from pawn shops across Ohio and returned to Ethan’s wooden memory chest.
