Chapter 10 - The New DawnThe sun rose over Manhattan, painting the glass and steel of the Chrysler Building in brilliant shades of gold and amber.

Up in the 47th-floor penthouse of the Atoria Grand, the air felt lighter, cleaner, and infinitely more alive than it had in two years.
Federal marshals and local authorities had swarmed the Atoria Grand basement three hours earlier, hauling Charles Vance away in handcuffs while corporate investigators seized every server, asset, and fraudulent document linking him to decades of embezzlement and corporate fraud. A moment later, Leo held up his hands with a triumphant grin.
Sitting in his palms wasn't just a simple towel rabbit. It was a complex, beautifully folded swan, its wings arched proudly toward the light.
Leo looked up at me, his hazel eyes sparkling with a bright, fearless energy.
"Look, Daddy," Leo said clearly, holding out his creation. "It's ready to fly."

I walked across the marble floor, knelt down beside my son, and gently touched the tip of the paper wing.
"It sure is, buddy," I whispered, my voice thick with emotion as I looked across the table at Savannah, who smiled back, her eyes shining with the quiet peace of a battle finally won. "It sure is."
