Chapter 10 - A New Dawn (The Unexpected Ending)The main screen on the wall of the panic room flickered to life, casting a cold, blue glow over the room.

It wasn't a corporate document or a list of bank accounts. It was a live security feed from a high-security prison facility in downtown Chicago.
On the screen, a man in an orange jumpsuit sat at a steel table in the visitation room. It was Marcus Sterling—Dominic’s chief corporate rival, a man currently serving a life sentence for white-collar fraud.
As the audio feed connected, Sterling’s voice echoed through the panic room, speaking directly into a hidden camera.
"If you're watching this, Dominic, it means your little northern fortress has finally been breached," Sterling smiled coldly on the screen. "You spent three years protecting the wrong boy."
Dominic stepped closer to the screen, his breath catching in his throat. "What is he talking about?"
On the screen, Sterling slid a yellowed hospital document across the table. "Your sister didn't give birth to just one child in that Cicero clinic three years ago. She had twins. One went to your sister... and the other was placed quietly under an adopted name to keep him safe from my reach."
Clara’s breath hitched. She looked at the screen, then down at her own hands, remembering the faded adoption papers her mother kept locked in their Cicero apartment—papers her mother had never explained, showing she wasn't her mother's biological daughter, but a child taken in under mysterious circumstances from a clinic in the same district.
"The boy in your house isn't your nephew, Dominic," Sterling chuckled darkly on the monitor. "He's mine."
Before Dominic could process the revelation, the heavy steel door of the panic room swung wide open.
Noah stood in the doorway. He wasn't crying. He wasn't holding a weapon.
In his small hand, he clutched a torn photograph—the original family picture from the north wall, showing Dominic’s sister holding two babies, not one.
The boy walked slowly across the room, ignoring Dominic completely, and stopped directly in front of Clara.
For the first time in three years, Noah opened his mouth, and spoke a clear, perfectly formed sentence that sent a shockwave through the entire mansion:
"Hi, big sister."

Dominic Vale stared at them in absolute, stunned silence, realizing that the house hadn't just been hiding a tragedy—it had been hiding a bloodline he never knew existed.
Outside, the first light of dawn broke over the shattered iron gates of the Lake Forest estate, illuminating a new, dangerous reality where enemies and family were no longer two different things.
