Chapter 10 - THE NEW BEGINNING AND THE FINAL TWISTElena placed a single photograph on the polished mahogany table between Wyatt and me.

It was a security still from the county jail intake facility, taken two hours earlier during Sabrina’s formal arraignment.

Sabrina stood behind the glass partition in an orange jumpsuit, her hair unbrushed, her face hollow and desperate. But what caught my eye wasn't Sabrina.

It was the man standing next to her in the holding cell.

A tall, impeccably dressed man in an expensive gray suit, clutching a briefcase and glaring angrily into the security camera.

"Do you know who that is standing beside her?" Elena asked, tapping the glass of the photo.

Wyatt squinted at the image, then gasped softly. "Wait... Is that—"

"Julian Vance," I finished calmly, a cold, knowing smile spreading across my face. "Irving’s estranged older brother. The billionaire shipping magnate from the East Coast who cut ties with them twenty years ago because he thought they were too corrupt."

"Not quite," Elena corrected, sliding a financial ledger across the table. "Our forensic auditors just tracked the offshore wire transfers used to fund Sabrina’s legal defense and shell companies. It wasn't Irving's money. It was Julian's."

Wyatt stared at the document in disbelief. "Uncle Julian was backing them the whole time?"

"He didn't just back them," I said, standing up from my chair and walking over to the panoramic window overlooking the sprawling logistics hub below. "Julian has been trying to break into the Midwest shipping corridor for a decade. Heartland Freight was his ultimate target. Using his niece Sabrina to marry into our family, trap Wyatt, and forge a corporate takeover was his master plan from day one. Irving and Sabrina were just his hired guns."

The room fell dead silent. The plot went much deeper than a greedy wife and a crooked father-in-law. It was a corporate war waged by family blood.

"So what do we do, Dad?" Wyatt asked, his voice steady, a fierce fire igniting in his eyes as he gripped the armrests of his chair. "Do we wait for Julian to make his next move?"

I turned around, looking at my son—healer of the past, master of the present, and heir to a legacy built on blood, sweat, and absolute resilience.

"We don't wait for anyone, son," I said, buttoning my jacket and grabbing my cap. "Julian thinks he's the apex predator of the shipping world. But he forgot one simple rule of the highway."

I walked over, placed my hand firmly on Wyatt's shoulder, and smiled.

"You never mess with a Yates family transport—because when we roll out, we don't just deliver freight. We deliver justice."
