Chapter 3 - The Billionaire’s AwakeningThe café went deathly silent. The men in suits didn't look at the patrons; they walked straight to Beatrice, bowing their heads in unison.

“Mrs. Kessler,” the lead man said. “We were concerned when your security detail lost sight of you.”
Tessa’s face drained of color. The phone dropped from her hand, clattering against the floor. “Mrs. Kessler? The owner of Silver Pine Foods?”
Beatrice didn't look at Tessa. She kept her gaze fixed on Owen. “Mr. Bishop, you mentioned you were a logistics manager. Why are you currently unemployed?”
Owen stood beside Ruby, his hand protectively on her shoulder. “Because eight months ago, I flagged a serious supply-chain oversight that was costing the company millions. My supervisor, Julian Kessler—your nephew—claimed I was the one embezzling. He forged documents, leaked them to the board, and made sure I was blacklisted in every major firm in the state.”

Beatrice’s expression darkened into a storm. She turned to Tessa. “And you. You’re Julian’s girlfriend, aren't you? How much of the café’s revenue has been diverted to his private accounts?”
Tessa tried to speak, but her mouth only opened and closed like a fish out of water.
