Chapter 7 - THE RECKONING

"You're right," Mr. Vance said quietly, taking another step closer until Patricia was forced to take a step back, her back hitting the cold metal door of the locked safe. "I was blind. I was arrogant enough to think that success in business meant I was immune to manipulation at home."

He reached into his jacket pocket, pulling out a thick manila folder and tossing it casually onto the king-sized bed behind her.

"What is that?" Patricia asked, her eyes darting nervously toward the folder.

"That is a complete legal dossier compiled by my corporate legal team over the last two hours," Mr. Vance said, his voice level and steady. "It contains full documentation of your embezzlement through Gregory Vance’s shell companies, your corporate espionage activities, your financial extortion of my staff, and the physical intimidation of my underage daughters."

Patricia’s face finally lost all its remaining color. The bravado shattered into jagged pieces. "Arthur... wait. We can talk about this. We’re partners—"

"We were never partners, Patricia," Mr. Vance interrupted, his tone chillingly absolute. "You were an employee who breached her contract in the worst possible way. And now, the penalty clause is being enforced."

Before Patricia could speak, the heavy double doors of the master suite clicked open.

Marcus stepped into the room, flanked by two armed private security contractors in sleek tactical gear. Behind them stood Rosa and Martina, holding hands, and Daniela, who stood tall and resolute, her dark eyes fixed steadily on Patricia.

"Pack your bags, Patricia," Mr. Vance said, turning his back on her and walking over to his daughters, placing a protective, grounding hand on Daniela's shoulder. "You have twenty minutes before the local authorities arrive at the front gates to take you into custody for wire fraud, extortion, and harassment."

Patricia stared at the assembled group—the man she thought she had completely conquered, the daughters she had tried to break, and the loyal staff she had tried to destroy. Realizing there was no escape, no tearful plea that would save her, she let out a harsh, defeated laugh, grabbed her designer handbag off the floor, and marched past the security guards without looking back.

As the heavy doors slammed shut behind her, locking her out of the master suite forever, a profound, heavy silence settled over the room—not the suffocating silence of a prison, but the quiet, healing breath of a home finally reclaimed.
