Chapter 7 - The Final JudgmentThe audio recording of that horrific night began playing through the high-end boardroom speakers:

“Once you’re gone, the company can heal.”
“Stop fighting, Evelyn. You already lost.”
The crystal-clear voices of my father, Grant, and Claire echoed off the glass walls, broadcasting their betrayal and murderous intent to every single executive in the room.
Claire burst into hysterical, broken tears, sliding down the wall onto the floor in absolute disgrace.
Grant lunged across the table toward me like a cornered animal, screaming curses, but before he could take two steps, the federal agents moved with lightning speed. They slammed him down onto the conference table, pinning his arms behind his back and snapping heavy steel handcuffs onto his wrists with a sharp, metallic click.
“Grant Vance, you are under arrest for federal wire fraud, corporate embezzlement, forgery, and attempted first-degree murder,” the lead agent announced loudly.

As Grant was hauled away, kicking and screaming obscenities, the agents turned their attention to my father, placing him under formal arrest for conspiracy and obstruction of justice as well.
The silence that returned to the boardroom was heavy, cleansing, and absolute.
