Chapter 8 - The Tarmac ShowdownThe wind whipped across the open tarmac of Manchester Airport, howling through the jet engines like a banshee. Four armed bodyguards raised their suppressed firearms, their red laser sights painting glowing dots across Alexander’s chest.

Declan didn't hesitate; he racked his shotgun, stepping forward to shield Alexander, a defiant grin on his weather-beaten face. "You know, for a billionaire, you sure know how to pick bad company, Roses."
Takahashi chuckled, adjusting his gold-rimmed glasses. "Brave words from a dockside rat. Final words, Mr. Roses?"
Alexander didn't flinch. Instead, he reached into his coat and gently pulled out the white puppy. With a soft, deliberate motion, he set both puppies down on the wet asphalt right between them.
The tan puppy didn't cower. It stepped forward, let out a sharp, resonant bark, and slammed its paw directly onto a hidden smart-terminal embedded in the tarmac—a secure override port connected to the global aviation network.
Instantly, the entire airport grid flickered.
The sleek Gulfstream jet behind Takahashi went dead silent, its navigation systems, hydraulic doors, and engine turbines locking down simultaneously with a series of heavy mechanical clicks.
Takahashi’s smile vanished. "What did you do?"
"You locked my accounts, Takahashi. I locked your transport," Alexander said, stepping forward as the airport's automated emergency klaxons began to wail in the distance, signaling an unauthorized security lockdown across all terminals. "And more importantly... I just broadcasted Clara's entire research archive to every financial regulatory body, Interpol cyber-crime unit, and media outlet on the planet."
Takahashi’s face turned the color of ash. "You... you insane bastard. You've destroyed us both!"
"No," Alexander said coldly. "I destroyed you. My empire was built on steel and contracts. Yours was built on blood and stolen genius. It's time to pay the balance."
Before Takahashi’s bodyguards could pull their triggers, the wailing sirens grew deafening as three British Federal Police armored vehicles smashed through the airport perimeter gates, their floodlights blinding the Yakuza operatives.
Armed officers poured out, shouting commands, their assault rifles trained squarely on Takahashi and his men.
Takahashi stared at the incoming police, then back at Alexander. Realization settled over him like a tombstone. He dropped his cane, raising his hands slowly in defeat.

As federal agents swarmed the tarmac, cuffing the stunned assassins and leading Takahashi away in chains, Alexander stood tall against the wind, watching them go.
Down at his feet, the tan puppy sat down, let out a long, contented yawn, and looked up at him with those impossibly human, knowing eyes.
