Chapter 14 - The Final BloodlineI followed Dominic into the cold, concrete core of the broadcast station. The room smelled of ozone, old copper wires, and expensive cologne.

Viktor Vance sat tied to a metal chair, a trickle of blood running down his temple, his expensive trench coat ruined by concrete dust. Standing behind him with a pistol pressed firmly against his neck was one of Dominic’s guards.
When Dominic stepped into the light, Viktor let out a ragged, humorless laugh.
"You think killing me solves anything, Vale?" Viktor spat, glaring up with bloodshot eyes. "The European health board already has a replacement dossier ready. Apex Gen-Tech was never just a company—it’s an ideology. People like you create the monsters, and people like us profit from them."
Dominic didn't shout. He pulled up a steel chair, sat down directly in front of Viktor, and rested his elbows on his knees.
"My wife was a scientist who wanted to cure diseases, Viktor," Dominic said, his voice terrifyingly calm. "Your brother was a parasite who wanted to build an army of obedient ghosts. And you? You're just a greedy accountant who doesn't know when to fold."
Dominic pulled a small, secure flash drive from his pocket and dropped it onto the metal table with a sharp clack.
"What is that?" Viktor’s eyes widened.
"That is every offshore account, tax shelter, and shell company name belonging to Apex Europe," Dominic said smoothly. "I sent a copy to Interpol, the Swiss federal police, and every major financial regulator on the continent ten minutes before we breached your gates."
Viktor’s face turned the color of ash. "You... you bankrupted your own leverage."
"I don't need leverage to kill a cockroach," Dominic whispered, standing up slowly. He nodded to the guard. "Hand him over to Interpol’s economic crimes division. Let him spend the next forty years rotting in a federal supermax cell where he belongs."

As Viktor was dragged screaming into the hallway, Dominic turned around and let out a long, heavy breath. The tension that had defined his entire life seemed to finally, truly lift from his broad shoulders.
He walked over to me, wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me against his chest. I buried my face in his shoulder, breathing in the scent of cedar and smoke, knowing the nightmare was finally over.
