Chapter 10 - The Unbreakable BondFive years later.

The DeLuca estate was unrecognizable from the dark, menacing fortress it had once been. The iron gates remained, but the sprawling gardens were filled with bright flowers, the laughter of children, and the peaceful hum of a thriving household.
On the wide stone patio, eight-year-old Emma sat at a wooden craft table, carefully cutting colored paper with a brand-new pair of stainless-steel scissors.
Standing beside her, leaning against the stone railing with a cup of coffee in hand, was Lorenzo DeLuca—now with silver threading through his dark hair, looking less like a feared mafia boss and more like a proud grandfather.
Sophia Rossi walked out onto the patio, carrying a plate of freshly baked biscotti, smiling warmly at the scene before her.
Emma looked up, holding a paper snowflake she had just cut out.
“Look, Uncle Lorenzo!” Emma beamed, running over to hand it to him. “Is it good?”
Lorenzo took the paper snowflake carefully, as if it were worth more than all the gold in his syndicate vaults. He pulled out his wallet—and tucked neatly inside the leather fold, right beside a picture of his late father, was a small, faded piece of ribbon holding a broken half of a pink plastic craft scissor.
“It’s the best one yet, little one,” Lorenzo smiled, kissing the top of her head.
