Chapter 3 - THE DOUBLE REVERSE

Her laughter wasn't manic or hysterical. It was light, genuine, and completely chilling.

Victor’s triumphant smile faltered. "What's so funny?"

"You really are Damian’s blood," Elena said, stepping closer to Victor until she was inches from his face. "You both suffer from the exact same fatal flaw. You assume that because I was quiet, I was stupid."

Victor’s eyes flicked with sudden suspicion. "What are you talking about?"

Elena reached into her pocket and pulled out a small, sleek black thumb drive with a glowing blue LED ring.

"Do you really think I didn't know you were siphoning data through Apex's servers for the past five years, Victor?" Elena asked. "Who do you think built those server pathways? Who do you think left those 'vulnerabilities' open for your IT teams to discover?"

Victor’s face went pale. "You..."

"I knew Damian was a clown," Elena said softly. "He was the noise. The distraction. I let him yell at me, spill coffee on my clothes, and publicize his fake authority so that you would get comfortable. I needed you to feel safe enough to transfer your shadow group's central reserve capital into those specific accounts."

She turned her eyes to the four other members of the Sovereign Group sitting at the table. Their expressions had shifted from cold detachment to sudden horror.

"Check your secondary ledgers," Elena suggested calmly.

The four council members scrambled for their secure tablets. Fingerprints were scanned, facial recognition flashes swept across screens, and then—simultaneously—four gasps of absolute despair echoed through the room.

"It's... it's gone," one of the old men stuttered, his hands shaking so violently he nearly dropped his tablet. "Our sovereign liquidity reserves... $180 billion... wiped!"

"Not wiped," Elena corrected smoothly. "Rerouted. The moment Victor executed the siphon protocol forty minutes ago, my trojan protocol activated. He didn't steal my legacy. He opened the floodgates and routed your entire global network straight into Voss Global’s sovereign vault."

Victor slammed his fist onto the table. "You bitch! That's illegal! That's international piracy!"

"Call the police then, Victor," Elena sneered, her voice cutting through him like a blade. "Explain to the FBI how $180 billion of unregistered, untaxed black-market debt money was sitting in an illegal offshore network. Go ahead. I’ll wait."

Victor collapsed back into his chair, his chest heaving, his face red with rage and terrifying comprehension. He was ruined. Not just him, but the entire cabal that had ruled global finance from the shadows for three decades.

"You... you destroyed us all," Victor whispered.

"No," Elena said, placing the black thumb drive on the table. "I just privatized you. As of this moment, every member of this council works for me. You will execute my orders. You will keep your positions, and you will present a brave face to the public. But every cent of interest you earn, every policy you influence, will be dictated by Voss Global."

She stepped back, sweeping her gaze across the conquered titans of finance.

"If any of you resist, I leak your private ledgers to the International Criminal Court, and you spend the rest of your short lives in a high-security federal prison."

Silence dominated the room. No one dared to breathe.

"Good," Elena said, pulling her gloves back on. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a personal matter to clean up."
