Chapter 7 - The Wife’s ArrivalBefore anyone could speak, the boardroom doors flew open again.

Vanessa burst into the room, breathless, her hair slightly disheveled, wearing an expensive designer dress and flashing diamond rings. She had received a frantic call from Emeka’s panicked assistant.
“What is the meaning of this circus?!” Vanessa shrieked, marching right down the center aisle. “Why are federal police in our corporate office?! Chinedu, why aren't you—?”
She stopped dead in her tracks as her eyes locked onto me standing at the head of the table.
The color drained entirely from Vanessa’s face. She looked from my sharp designer pantsuit back to my face, then down to the cleaning agency ID badge still tucked inside my leather portfolio resting on the table.
“You...” Vanessa whispered, her voice trembling with sudden, sickening realization. “You’re... you’re the cleaner.”
“I am the woman whose marble floor you made me scrub while you plotted to steal her life’s work,” I replied calmly, stepping toward her.
Vanessa’s voice rose to a frantic pitch. “Chinedu! Tell her! Tell your mother she’s insane! She’s trying to ruin us!”
Chinedu slowly raised his head. He looked at Vanessa—not with love, not with defense, but with a cold, devastating clarity.
“Pack your bags, Vanessa,” Chinedu said quietly, his voice dead. “Our marriage was built on lies, greed, and a forged signature. It ends today.”

Vanessa let out a choked shriek of absolute rage, turning to lunge toward me, but federal marshals stepped in, blocking her path instantly.
“Escort Mrs. Vanessa off the premises,” I ordered smoothly. “And freeze all personal accounts linked to her and Emeka pending forensic audit.”
