Chapter 10 - The Unbroken LineThe lecture hall hummed with intense focus as I clicked to the first slide of my presentation, projecting a complex web of financial shell companies onto the massive smart screen behind me.

"Truth," I began, pacing slowly across the front of the stage, my hand resting casually against the wooden railing, "is not something you stumble upon by accident. It is something you build, piece by piece, ledger by ledger, proof by proof, when the entire world tells you to stay quiet."
In the back row, a young female student raised her hand hesitantly.
I stopped and nodded toward her. "Yes?"
"Professor Bennett," she asked, her voice clear and earnest, "how do you know when you have enough evidence to stand up to someone powerful?"
I paused, looking out over the sea of eager, intelligent faces—young people who would soon step out into the world carrying the armor of knowledge and integrity. I thought back to that bright, windy graduation day in June, to the stinging heat of the slap across my face, to the heavy leather diploma I had picked up from the dusty pavement, and to the small black flash drive that had rewritten my entire destiny.
"You don't wait for permission," I answered softly, a quiet, unshakeable strength underlying every word. "You don't wait for someone to save you. And you never, ever let fear write your final chapter."
I turned back to the screen, watching the financial data glow brightly in the morning light.
