Chapter 4 - The Stolen WillVictoria stared down at the manila folder, her immaculate composure fracturing for a fraction of a second. A bead of cold sweat formed near her temple.

“What is this childish game?” Victoria forced a nervous laugh, looking at Alejandro. “Your sister is harassing me again.”
Alejandro sighed, rubbing his neck. “Camila, pick up the folder. We are done with this.”
“Open it, Alejandro,” I commanded, my voice dropping an octave into a tone of absolute, unbreakable authority that he hadn't heard since we were children. “Open it, and look at what your beloved fiancée has been hiding in her vanity drawer.”
Alejandro, exasperated and furious, snatched the folder off the table and ripped the flap open.
He pulled out the document.
His eyes scanned the first paragraph. Then the second.
The color drained from Alejandro’s face so fast it looked as though all the blood had been violently sucked from his body. His hands began to shake so violently the paper rustled loudly in the quiet room.
“Victoria…” Alejandro whispered, his voice cracking into a broken, disbelieving gasp. “Victoria… why does she know about the will?”
The room froze solid.
Victoria stood up so fast her chair screeched loudly against the hardwood floor. Her face turned an ugly, mottled shade of pale purple.
“That—that is a forgery!” Victoria shrieked, pointing a manicured finger at me. “She forged it! She broke into my room, stole my stationery, and fabricated this to destroy our engagement!”
“Really?” I asked, leaning back in my chair with a cold, serene smile. “Because forensic analysis doesn't rely on stationery, Victoria. It relies on latent fingerprint recovery, digital ink spectrometry, and the exact security camera logs from the study safe.”

Victoria turned her furious, venomous gaze toward me, looking at me as if I had committed the ultimate act of treason.
“You little bitch,” Victoria hissed, dropping all pretense of elegance. “You think you’re so smart, don’t you? You think a few fake documents are going to stop me from taking this entire estate?”
