Chapter 15 - The Clash at the Waterfront

Before the patrons could scream, Roman and his tactical team swarmed the plaza.

Enzo crashed through the side entrance of the cafe, tackling the second enforcer before he could draw his weapon. Roman moved with terrifying, fluid speed across the cobblestones, slamming the lead enforcer’s head down against the iron table with enough force to drop him instantly into unconsciousness.

“Secure the drive!” Roman shouted over the sudden commotion, grabbing Nora by the wrist and pulling her behind the reinforced stone pillar of the cafe awning.

“They were just foot soldiers,” Nora panted, pressing her back against the cool stone. “Vance isn't here. This was a reconnaissance drop to confirm my location.”

Roman’s eyes darkened. He tapped his earpiece, connecting directly to the penthouse surveillance grid. “Marcus, check the secondary satellite feed over St. Jude’s Recovery Center. Now.”

A pause crackled over the comms channel. Then Marcus’s voice came back, tight and urgent.

“Boss, we have movement at St. Jude’s. Two unmarked black SUVs just breached the north perimeter gate. They’re moving toward the main medical ward.”

Nora’s blood ran cold. “Tommy.”

Roman didn't hesitate. He pulled her toward the idling armored sedan parked at the curb, throwing open the passenger door. “Get in. We’re going for a ride.”
