The Ashford Mansion no longer felt like a home.
Police officers searched every room.
Forensic experts photographed every inch of the hidden chamber beneath the marble floor.
News helicopters circled overhead.
And Daniel Ashford sat alone in his study, staring at the DNA reports spread across his desk.

Then Detective Ryan Collins walked in carrying a sealed evidence bag.
"We found something inside the underground room."
Daniel looked up.
Inside the bag was an old VHS tape.
Across the faded label were six handwritten words:

The picture flickered to life.

She kept glancing toward the door as though someone was listening.

"I discovered they have been buying embryos from wealthy families for years."
"They don't just steal children..."
"They manufacture heirs."
Daniel felt his stomach tighten.
His mother's voice continued.
"They're building a secret network of powerful bloodlines."
"And the Ashford family is at the center of it."
Suddenly—
The recording cut to static.
Then another scene appeared.
Security camera footage.
A hospital nursery.
Daniel watched in horror as two nurses quietly exchanged newborn babies in the middle of the night.

Twenty-four years ago.
Daniel could barely breathe.

He answered.
A calm female voice whispered,
"You've only found two children."
Then she laughed softly.
"There are seven."
The call disconnected.
Daniel froze.
Seven?
Seven children carrying his DNA?
At that exact moment, every screen inside the mansion suddenly turned on by themselves.
A black background appeared.
Then white letters slowly filled the screen.
WELCOME BACK, MR. ASHFORD.
PROJECT GENESIS HAS BEEN WAITING FOR YOU.
A final message appeared beneath it.
YOUR CHILDREN ARE ALREADY WATCHING.
The screens went black.
No one spoke.
Daniel slowly turned toward the security monitors.
One camera outside the mansion caught a hooded figure standing perfectly still beyond the gates.
The stranger smiled...
...then vanished into the darkness before security could reach them.
Daniel finally understood.
This was never about one missing woman.
Or one hidden child.
His entire family had been part of an experiment that had lasted for decades.
And somewhere in America...
