CHAPTER 7 — She Was Never the Weapon... She Was the Lock

"Hello... big brother."

Daniel's blood ran cold.

The little girl's voice echoed through every speaker in the underground laboratory.

She looked no older than eight years old.

Yet her eyes held the emptiness of someone who had never known love.

Marcus slowly stepped toward the glass chamber.

Tears streamed down his face.

"My little girl..."

She tilted her head.

"I don't know you."

Those five words shattered Marcus more than any bullet ever could.

Emily covered her mouth, trying not to cry.

"They erased every memory she ever had."

"They raised her as an experiment."

The governor limped into the control room, laughing.

"You still don't understand."

"Project Lazarus was never designed to destroy cities."

Daniel looked at the giant reactors surrounding the chamber.

"Then what is it?"

The governor smiled.

"She's the only person alive who can unlock Vault Zero."

Marcus's expression changed instantly.

"No..."

Daniel frowned.

"What's Vault Zero?"

Marcus answered in a trembling voice.

"The world's largest archive of illegal money."

"For decades, corrupt presidents, billionaires, generals, and crime syndicates secretly stored their fortunes there."

"Over two trillion dollars."

Emily whispered,

"They kidnapped our daughter because her DNA became the master key after she was born during the experiment."

The governor slowly clapped.

"Exactly."

"The virus was only a distraction."

"The real treasure was always the vault."

He pointed toward the girl's chamber.

"Without her DNA..."

"No one can open it."

"And without Vault Zero..."

The world's most powerful people lose everything."

Suddenly, every monitor in the room flashed red.

UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS DETECTED.

A calm computerized voice echoed through the bunker.

DNA MATCH FOUND.

The chamber surrounding the little girl slowly unlocked.

She stepped out for the first time in her life.

Barefoot.

Silent.

She walked directly toward Daniel.

Everyone froze.

She gently reached out...

Touched his face...

Then closed her eyes.

For several long seconds, nothing happened.

Suddenly—

Thousands of hidden monitors across the laboratory switched on by themselves.

Names.

Secret bank accounts.

Politicians.

Judges.

CEOs.

Military generals.

Every secret file the conspiracy had hidden for decades appeared on the screens.

The governor's smile vanished.

"No..."

He staggered backward.

"No! That's impossible!"

The little girl looked at him calmly.

"I remember now."

Marcus stared in disbelief.

"What do you remember?"

She slowly turned toward her father.

"You used to sing to me."

Marcus collapsed to his knees, sobbing.

His daughter remembered.

Not everything.

Just enough.

But before the family could embrace...

The bunker shook violently.

A massive steel door—one no one had noticed before—began to rise from the floor.

Behind it stood a man dressed in a perfectly tailored black suit.

He looked no older than fifty.

Yet every soldier in the room immediately lowered their weapons.

Even the governor dropped to one knee.

The man smiled at Marcus.

"So..."

"The family reunion is over."

He looked directly at Daniel.

"You have your father's eyes."

May you like

Then he spoke the sentence that froze everyone in place.

"I ordered your birth."
