Chapter 10 - The Beginning of ForeverThe private Gulfstream jet touched down on the private airstrip in upstate New York under the breaking light of dawn.

I didn't wait for the vehicle stairs to be properly aligned; I pushed open the cabin door and leaped down onto the tarmac, my strides long and fast as I followed the federal marshals toward the secure medical facility.
My chest felt tight, the air burning in my lungs. For five years, I had believed she was gone. For five years, I had carried her ghost in my heart.
And now, the ghost was breathing.
The heavy steel doors of the medical recovery ward hissed open.
The room was quiet, lit by the pale, golden rays of the morning sun streaming through the high windows.
She was sitting up in the hospital bed, her IV needle taped to her hand, staring out the window. When the door opened, she turned her head slowly.
Our eyes locked.
Time stopped. The sound of the world faded into absolute silence.
Clara’s lips parted, her pale blue eyes—the exact same eyes her daughter had inherited—filling instantly with shimmering tears.
"Lucas..." she whispered, her voice cracking with five years of unimaginable pain, survival, and enduring love.
I crossed the room in two strides, falling to my knees beside her bed, burying my face in her hands as the dam finally broke and the cold, feared mafia boss of Boston wept like a child.
Clara’s weak, trembling fingers tangled into my hair, pulling me close against her chest, her own tears falling into my hair.
"You found us," she sobbed softly. "You got my message."
"I told you a long time ago, Clara," I murmured, pressing my forehead against her palm, kissing her knuckles with fierce, unbreakable devotion. "Nothing in this world—not an army, not an empire, not death itself—could ever keep me from finding you."
The door behind us clicked open softly.
Small, hesitant footsteps padded across the tiled floor.
A tiny pair of arms wrapped around both of us, squeezing us tight in a warm, messy embrace, dragging the oversized cleaning apron along the floor.
"Mommy! Mr. Wolf Eyes found us!" Emma cheered brightly.
May you like
Clara and I looked at each other, tears shining in both our eyes, as we pulled our daughter into the center of our arms.
The storm was finally over. And our true legacy had just begun.
