Chapter 3 - The Traitor UnmaskedThe boardroom exploded. Security was called, and Alden Cross was escorted out, his face a mask of rage and defeat. He didn't go quietly, screaming about ‘entitlement’ and ‘the real cost of doing business,’ but Nathaniel wasn't listening. He was looking at the gold pen.

“Clara,” Nathaniel said, his demeanor softening. “How long have you known?”

“Since I started bringing the water,” she replied. “Mr. Cross has been taking calls in the hallway. I didn't understand the business part, but I understood the Japanese.”

Nathaniel looked at Elena, Clara’s mother, who had been standing at the door, trembling with fear that her daughter had overstepped. He walked over to her. “Elena, your daughter is the most valuable asset in this room. And I owe you an apology for not knowing your name until today.”
