Chapter 10 - The Garden of New BeginningsSix months later.

The gardens of the Mercer Estate were no longer just manicured hedges and cold stone. They were alive with vibrant color—rows upon rows of bright pink daisies, yellow sunflowers, and purple violets blooming brilliantly under the warm autumn sun.

On a white wooden swing beneath a massive oak tree, Mave sat laughing as a golden retriever puppy licked her nose. She wore a bright red coat—complete with all its buttons securely fastened.

A few feet away, standing on the stone patio, Clara Jensen—fully recovered, glowing with health, and now serving as the estate’s director of charitable foundations—watched her daughter with a cup of tea in her hand.

Silas walked out onto the patio, stepping up beside Clara. He handed her a newly printed financial report for the Mave Mercer Foundation, which had already funded free medical care for over a thousand underprivileged children across New York.

Clara smiled, looking up at him. “You’ve really changed this place, Silas.”

Silas looked over at Mave, who was currently picking a purple violet and running over toward them with a radiant, joyful smile.

“No, Clara,” Silas murmured, a genuine, effortless smile touching his lips. “She changed it.”

Mave stopped in front of them, holding up a freshly picked violet.

“For you, Daddy,” she beamed.

Silas knelt down, gently taking the flower, and kissed the top of her head.

Some people spend their entire lives building fortunes, stacking wealth, and hiding behind walls of stone and steel. But true power—and true wealth—is found in the most unexpected places: in the heart of a little girl who refused to give up, and the man who burned down a world of cruelty just to give her a home.

And as long as the sun rose over Fifth Avenue, no one would ever step on her flowers again.
