Chapter 6 - BLOOD CONVOY TO THE CAPITAL

The highway leading into Mexico City looked like a scene from an impending military invasion. A convoy of twelve blacked-out, heavily armored SUVs tore through the midnight fog, their V8 engines roaring in perfect, terrifying unison. Inside the lead vehicle, Alejandro Villalobos sat in total silence, a tactical combat knife resting in his lap, its blade reflecting the rhythmic flash of the passing highway lights.
He had left forty of his most trusted men at the Sinaloa fortress to guard Diego and Sofía, giving strict orders to seal the bunker if a single unauthorized vehicle approached the property. This wasn't a cartel war anymore. This was a private execution.
In the heart of Mexico City’s ultra-luxurious Polanco district, a private party was taking place in a multi-million dollar penthouse penthouse suite. Mauricio Villalobos, dressed in a white linen suit, was raising a crystal glass of expensive champagne, toasted by high-society politicians and corporate executives. He had just been told that Alejandro had been spending his time playing father to two orphans in Sinaloa, assuming his cousin had finally gone soft, losing his edge to old age and sentimentality.
"To the future of the Villalobos Group," Mauricio announced with a smooth, arrogant smile. "A future built on modern corporate strategy, not the old, violent ways of the past."
Suddenly, the grand glass elevator at the center of the penthouse dinged.
The doors slid open, and the music in the room died instantly.
Alejandro Villalobos stepped out, flanked by Arturo and four massive tactical operatives carrying submachine guns under their coats. The elite guests scrambled backward, dropping their glasses, terrified by the sheer aura of death radiating from the legendary boss.
Mauricio’s smile froze. He tried to maintain his composure, setting his champagne glass down on a marble table. "Alejandro! What a surprise. You didn't tell me you were coming to the capital. We were just celebrating the new real estate merger—"
Before Mauricio could finish his sentence, Alejandro closed the distance between them in three massive strides. He grabbed Mauricio by the throat, lifting the grown man completely off his feet, and slammed him violently onto the glass-top banquet table. The table shattered into thousands of crystal shards, sending food, champagne, and ice flying across the room.
The guests screamed, rushing for the exits, but Alejandro's men blocked the doors, their weapons drawn. "Nobody leaves," Arturo announced coldly.
"Alejandro! Are you insane?!" Mauricio gasped, choking as Alejandro’s heavy leather boot stepped firmly onto his chest, pinning him to the floor among the broken glass. "We are family! You can't do this to me in front of these people!"
Alejandro reached into his jacket and pulled out the Swiss bank transfer receipt, tossing it onto Mauricio’s bleeding face.
"Eight years ago, you paid a cartel hit squad to blow up my car on Highway 15," Alejandro said, his voice so quiet, yet so filled with absolute malice that the entire room seemed to drop ten degrees. "I survived because an honest man named Héctor Castillo pulled me out of the flames. Six months ago, you paid Raul Vargas five million dollars to murder that honest man and try to dispose of his children."
Mauricio’s eyes dilated with pure, unadulterated terror. He realized, with absolute certainty, that his secret was out. "Alejandro... please... it was just business! The empire needed to grow! The old ways were holding us back! The mechanic was nobody! Just a filthy grease monkey from the slums! Why do you care about him?!"
"Because that grease monkey had more honor in his pinky finger than your entire bloodline will ever possess," Alejandro growled. He leaned down, his face inches from his cousin's terrified eyes. "You thought you were wiping out the past by killing him. But you didn't wipe it out, Mauricio. You brought his children directly to me. I have adopted them. They are my heirs now. Every single dollar you tried to steal from this family... now belongs to Héctor Castillo's children."
"No... please, Alejandro! We share the same blood!" Mauricio begged, tears streaming down his face as he felt the cold steel of Alejandro's knife press against his cheek.
"We used to," Alejandro whispered. "But tonight, you are no longer a Villalobos. You are just a dog who bit the hand that fed him."
Alejandro stood up and looked at Arturo. "Don't kill him here. Take him to the construction site where Héctor fell. Let him experience the exact same height before he hits the concrete."

"No! Alejandro! Please! Mercy!" Mauricio screamed as Arturo's men dragged him out of the broken penthouse, his white linen suit covered in blood and filth.
Alejandro didn't watch them leave. He walked over to the edge of the penthouse balcony, looking out over the sprawling lights of Mexico City. The debt had been paid. The man who had saved him was finally avenged. But as he looked down at his phone, seeing a text message from the nanny in Sinaloa with a picture of Diego and Sofía sleeping peacefully in their beds, Alejandro realized his true work had just begun. He wasn't just a feared boss anymore. He was a father. And God help anyone who ever tried to cross his children again.
