Chapter 10 - THE FINAL WHISPERLate that night, after the gala had ended and the guests had all departed, Ernesto stood alone on the wrap-around balcony of his Polanco penthouse, looking out over the shimmering lights of Mexico City.

The rain that had battered San Gabriel Hospital six months ago was gone, replaced by a clear, starry night sky.
He took a slow sip of sparkling water from a clean glass, watching the ice cubes clink softly against the rim. He thought about Valeria sitting in her cold prison cell, and Iván locked away in Almoloya. He didn't feel hatred or anger anymore. Indifference is the truest form of victory.
His phone buzzed on the glass table beside him. It was a text message from Mateo:
“Thank you for everything, Ernesto. See you at the factory tomorrow morning at 8:00 sharp.”
Ernesto smiled, tapped out a quick reply—“Wouldn't miss it for the world”—and locked his phone.
