Chapter 10 - A New EmpireThree months later, St. Catherine’s Medical Center was quiet during the night shift.

Bianca walked down the fourth-floor hallway, her white lab coat swinging gently against her scrubs. When she passed Room 402, she glanced inside. Eleanor Bellamy was sitting up in bed, reading a magazine, looking healthier and happier than she had in years.
"Evening, Bianca!" Eleanor called out with a warm smile. "Are you joining us for Sunday dinner at the estate this week? Tristan has been driving the household crazy trying to make sure the chef prepares your favorite dessert."
Bianca smiled, touching the delicate silver-and-diamond pendant resting against her collarbone—a gift Tristan had given her on their official one-month anniversary.
"I'll be there, Mrs. Bellamy," Bianca replied warmly.
Ten minutes later, Bianca walked out of the hospital's south entrance into the crisp autumn air.
Parked at the curb, waiting right where it always did, was a sleek, pitch-black Maybach SUV. The rear door clicked open automatically.
Bianca didn't hesitate this time. She walked down the steps, climbed into the back seat, and closed the door behind her.
Tristan was sitting there in his tailored suit, looking as dangerous and untouchable as ever. But when he saw her, the cold exterior melted away into a quiet, possessive warmth. He pulled her gently across the leather seat, resting her head against his shoulder—right where she had accidentally fallen asleep months ago.
"Rough shift?" he murmured, wrapping a strong arm around her waist.

"The longest of my life," Bianca sighed, closing her eyes as she breathed in his familiar cedar scent. "Take me home, Tristan."
"Always," he whispered, pressing a soft kiss to the top of her head as the black SUV glided smoothly into the glittering lights of the New York night.
