Chapter 6 - THE EVIDENCE UNLEASHEDThe emergency lights hummed to life, casting an eerie, reddish glow across the terror-stricken faces of Chicago's underworld elite.

Adrian stood beneath the bullet-ridden screen, his chest heaving, smoke curling from the barrel of his gun. His eyes were wide with a mix of murderous rage and sheer, unadulterated terror as he realized the nightmare had only just begun.

He slowly turned his head, his gaze locking onto me standing calmly near the center aisle.

"You," Adrian whispered, the word barely audible over the hum of the emergency generators. "You did this."

"I told you I was coming to the wedding, Adrian," I said, walking slowly toward the stage, my heels clicking rhythmically against the stone floor. "You just assumed I'd come empty-handed."

Valentina grabbed the sleeve of Adrian’s tuxedo, her face drained of all color, her eyes darting between her new husband and the scrolling financial records of money laundering that incriminated her own father's syndicate as well. "Adrian... what is this? What is he talking about? Is this real?!"

"Shut up, Valentina," Adrian snapped, his focus entirely locked on me. He raised the barrel of the gun, pointing it straight at my chest. The entire room collectively sucked in their breath. Nobody moved. Nobody dared to breathe.

"You think killing me here, in front of all your criminal associates and corrupt judges, is going to make this go away?" I asked, tilting my head with absolute composure.

"The moment I pull this trigger, your little digital files go down with you," Adrian snarled, his finger tightening on the trigger.

I smiled softly. "Adrian... do you really think a smart woman leaves her life's insurance policy on a single cloud server?"
