Chapter 9 - THE TRUTH GOES LIVEVictor held Lily beside him.

Theo slowly lowered his weapon.

“Let her go.”

Victor smiled.

“You always were sentimental.”

“She's a child.”

“She is evidence.”

Victor pushed Lily forward.

Theo moved.

Security rushed from both sides.

Victor tried to escape.

He didn't make it.

Within seconds, he was on the floor.

Lily ran into Theo's arms.

“Mr. Walker!”

“I've got you.”

Victor laughed.

“You still don't understand.”

Theo looked at him.

“What?”

“The evidence is worthless.”

Victor pointed toward the computers.

“Every judge you will take it to has been paid.”

Theo smiled.

“Not every judge.”

Victor's expression changed.

Theo lifted his phone.

A red indicator was glowing.

LIVE.

Millions of people were watching.

Theo had streamed the entire confrontation.

Every confession.

Every name.

Every document.

Every child.

Victor's face went white.

Theo stepped closer.

“You were right about one thing.”

“What?”

“Records matter.”

Theo held up the files.

“But so do witnesses.”

Behind him stood:

Margaret.

Sarah.

Claire.

Eli.

Lily.

And twenty-seven former children.

The truth had witnesses.

The internet had seen everything.

Police sirens filled the distance.
