CHAPTER 1: THE BOY WHO KNEW TOO MUCH

The door of the VIP hospital room exploded open so violently that it slammed against the wall.
Doctors jumped.
Nurses gasped.
And before anyone could react, a skinny homeless boy burst inside.
His clothes were torn.
His face was covered in dirt.
His bare feet left dusty footprints across the polished floor.
But what caught everyone's attention wasn't his appearance.
It was the stone clenched tightly in his hand.
"STOP HIM!" someone shouted.
The boy ignored them.
His eyes were locked on only one person.
The billionaire lying in the hospital bed.
Nathan Blackwood.
One of the richest men in America.
Owner of Blackwood Technologies.
A man worth billions.
A man who had supposedly suffered a terrible accident three weeks earlier.
His left leg was trapped inside a thick medical cast.
The boy ran directly toward him.
Nathan stared in confusion.
"Who is that kid?"
Before anyone answered, the boy raised the stone high above his head.
CRACK!
The stone smashed into the cast.
Doctors screamed.
A nurse dropped a tray.
Nathan nearly fell from the bed.
"What the hell are you doing?" a surgeon roared.
But the boy shouted back.
"There is no broken bone!"
The room froze.
Everyone looked at him.
His chest rose and fell rapidly.
His eyes were filled with certainty.
"You're lying to him!"
The surgeon's face turned pale.
Nathan noticed it immediately.
"What's he talking about?"
Nobody answered.
The boy pointed directly at the cast.
"That isn't protecting his leg."
The surgeon grabbed the child.
"Take him out!"
But before security arrived, the boy screamed something that made the room even quieter.
"THERE'S SOMETHING HIDDEN INSIDE!"
Silence.
A terrible silence.
Nathan slowly turned toward his doctors.
For the first time, he noticed something strange.
Nobody looked surprised.
Nobody looked confused.
They looked frightened.
The boy suddenly broke free.
He lifted the stone again.
CRACK!
The cast split.
A long crack appeared from knee to ankle.
The surgeon lunged forward.
Too late.
A large chunk fell to the floor.
Nathan stared.
The doctors stared.
The nurses stared.
Slowly, pieces of plaster crumbled away.
And then everyone saw it.
Something black.
Something metallic.
Something that definitely wasn't part of a human leg.
A small electronic device was embedded beneath the cast.
Nathan's blood ran cold.
"What..."
No one moved.
No one spoke.
The homeless boy whispered:
"I told you."
May you like
And suddenly the billionaire realized his accident might never have been an accident at all.
The nightmare was only beginning...
