Chapter 8 - The Twisted Horizon (The Shocking Finale)Three weeks later.

The court granted Adrian full, permanent sole custody of Lila and Mia, stripping Vanessa of all parental rights while she faced fifteen years in federal prison for fraud, child endangerment, and conspiracy. Julian was facing a life sentence for illegal firearms and corporate extortion.

Adrian sat in his warm, quiet office overlooking the city skyline. Lila and Mia were happily drawing pictures at a small table nearby, laughing and playing peacefully.

Marcus walked into the office, holding a confidential yellow envelope.

“The final estate liquidations are complete, Adrian,” Marcus said softly. “You own 100% of Vanguard Enterprises now. But... something came up during the final audit of your father’s old personal files.”

Adrian took the envelope and opened it. Inside was a sealed letter written by his late father ten years ago, along with an official hospital record.

Adrian read the lines, his heart pounding in his chest.

“To my son, Adrian: If you are reading this, it means Julian has made his move. There is a truth I could never tell you while I was alive. Julian is not my son. He was adopted after a dark mistake in my youth. And Vanessa... Vanessa was never a stranger. She was Julian’s sister, placed near you to ruin our family. But the girls... Lila and Mia... were never Julian’s. The clinic results you were shown six years ago were falsified by Julian to break your spirit. Lila and Mia are 100% your biological daughters. Protect them with your life.”

Adrian gasped, dropping the letter as tears filled his eyes.

The DNA test Marcus had handed him weeks ago was a fake planted by Julian’s network to make Adrian abandon the girls! But Adrian hadn't abandoned them. Even believing they weren't his blood, he had chosen to love them and fight for them anyway.

Lila walked over, holding up a drawing of the three of them holding hands under a bright yellow sun.

“Look, Daddy! It’s us! No more storms!”

Adrian pulled both of his daughters tight into a warm, fierce embrace, tears of pure joy streaming down his face.

“No more storms, my sweet girls,” Adrian whispered, looking out at the bright morning sky. “No more storms.”
