Chapter 10 - Dawn of a New LegacyThe morning sun rose over the North District, casting a warm, golden glow across the quiet streets. The rain was gone, replaced by a crisp, clear sky that seemed to wash away the sins of the previous night.

Inside the grand conservatory of the Benevventi estate, the atmosphere was peaceful.
Vicki sat on the floor with Nero, laughing as the little black puppy chased its own tail across the plush Persian rug. Dr. Elena Benevventi sat at the marble table, reviewing official legal documents delivered an hour earlier—documents bearing the total dissolution of Apex Capital Group, the return of her research patent, and a multi-million-dollar endowment fund establishing a free medical foundation in her name.
The heavy mahogany doors opened, and Calcio walked in.
He had changed into a fresh charcoal suit, his hair neatly combed, the dark tattoos on his neck partially visible beneath his collar. He looked tired, but his eyes carried an absolute, unshakeable peace.
Vicki looked up, jumped to her feet, and ran over, throwing her arms around his waist.
Calcio smiled—a rare, genuine smile that reached his eyes—and scooped her up easily into his arms, setting her gently on his shoulder.
"Did you chase the bad men away forever, Mr. Calcio?" Vicki asked softly, her big dark eyes searching his face.
"Forever, bambina," Calcio replied, pressing a gentle kiss to the top of her head. "They're never coming back."
Elena walked over, looking up at her brother with a mixture of profound gratitude, love, and awe. She reached out and placed her hand gently over his scarred forearm.
"Thank you, big brother," Elena whispered, her voice thick with emotion. "You saved us."

Calcio looked down at his sister and his niece, watching Nero yip happily at their feet. The underworld war was over. The empire was secure. But more importantly, his family was safe.
"You're home, Elena," Calcio said softly, his voice carrying the warmth of a true protector. "And nobody will ever take that away from us again."
