Chapter 4 - The EvictionCatchphrase Hook: "You made my home your love nest. Now watch me turn it into your prison."

By 8:00 a.m. the following morning, the public narrative had completely shifted. The news video of Mariana exposing her in-laws had gone viral across the country, garnering over three million views. Doña Elvira and Camila were now the most hated figures in Puebla social media circles.
But Mariana wasn't finished. Exposure was just the appetizer; justice was the main course.
At 9:00 a.m., Mariana stood outside the luxury apartment building in the upscale neighborhood of La Paz. Standing beside her were Gabriel Mendoza, two uniform officers from the Puebla State Police, and a professional locksmith carrying a heavy toolkit.
Gabriel checked his watch. "The twenty-four-hour notice we served Camila yesterday officially expired thirty minutes ago. She is legally trespassing."
Mariana nodded to the locksmith. "Break the lock."
The locksmith went to work. Within three minutes, the heavy metal deadbolt clicked open. Mariana pushed the door open and stepped into the apartment.
The living room was an absolute disaster. Clothes were scattered everywhere, open suitcases sat on the Italian leather sofa, and half-packed boxes littered the hardwood floor.
Camila came running out of the master bedroom, wearing a bathrobe, her hair unwashed and wildly disheveled.
"What are you doing here?!" Camila shrieked, backing away as she saw the two police officers step into the foyer. "You can't just barge into my home!"
"This isn't your home, Camila," Mariana said calmly, walking around the marble coffee table. "This is Property 4B, registered under the sole ownership of Mariana Torres. You are currently committing a felony by remaining on these premises."
"Rodrigo gave me this apartment!" Camila yelled, her voice breaking with desperation. "I lived here with him! His ghost is in this room! You have no heart!"
"Rodrigo didn't own the bricks under your feet," Mariana replied coldly. "Officer, please inform the squatter of her options."
The senior officer stepped forward, his hand resting on his utility belt. "Ma'am, you have fifteen minutes to gather your personal identification, phone, and essential clothing. Everything else inside this apartment remains here pending an inventory review. If you do not leave peacefully, we will place you under arrest for illegal occupation and criminal trespass."
Camila looked around frantically. "My clothes! My jewelry! Rodrigo bought those for me!"
"Rodrigo bought those using credit cards tied to my joint account," Mariana interjected, sliding a legal binder onto the counter. "Every gift, every piece of gold, every piece of designer furniture in this apartment was purchased with funds stolen from my household. My forensic accountant has cataloged every transaction. All personal effects bought with fraudulent funds are being seized as partial restitution."
"You can't do this to me!" Camila sobbed, falling to her knees. "I have nowhere to go! My family disowned me after that news video yesterday!"
"Then I suggest you find a cheap motel," Mariana said without a trace of pity. "Your fifteen minutes start now."
Panicking, Camila scrambled around the room, stuffing whatever cheap clothing and toiletries she could grab into a single duffel bag. The police officers watched her every move, ensuring she didn't touch the expensive jewelry box or the designer handbags resting on the closet shelves.
When the fifteen minutes were up, the officers escorted a sobbing, ruined Camila down the hallway and out of the building into the pouring rain, carrying nothing but a soft bag.
Mariana walked through the silent, empty apartment. She stopped in the master bedroom and looked at the nightstand. There, resting beside a half-empty glass of water, was a small leather-bound notebook.
Mariana picked it up and opened it. It was Rodrigo’s private ledger—a detail-obsessed diary where he kept track of his hidden investments, offshore accounts, and secret agreements with his family.
As Mariana flipped through the pages, her eyes narrowed at a specific entry dated six months prior.
“Project Phoenix: Transfer of company assets complete. If Mariana discovers the Cholula land shell corporation before the final closing, Elvira and Iván must execute the back-up protocol.”

Mariana’s blood ran cold.
Rodrigo hadn't just been cheating on her. He and his family had been planning a massive, systematic financial execution to bankrupt her completely before filing for divorce.
